Cheltenham Races

A cutting from a paper, but it shows me covering the horse racing at Cheltenham (bottom right). When I cover horse racing I photograph the last fence to hopefully get the winner, then fight through all the crowds to the winners enclosure to get the winner, quickly run back to the media centre to download, edit, caption and send, usually just in time to fight my way back onto the course for the start of the next race. During Gold Cup week this is intense, and you also have the added stress of covering celebrities and themed pictures to illustrate Ladies Day or St Patrick’s Day when all the Irish descend on Cheltenham.

Cheetah South Africa

I’m passionate about wildlife, especially the big cats. I have been very fortunate over the years and have seen Lions, Tigers, Leopards in their natural environment. This is something I am being drawn to and I hope one day to spendĀ  time photographing wildlife around the world. I’m also a supporter of Born Free, WWF and other wildlife charities, and detest the killing of animals by trophy hunters.
