Brief Biography

A multi award winning Press/PR/Corporate/Sport/Event photographer with over three decades experience working for the regional and national press. Many of my photographs are used worldwide. A staff photographer with The Citizen, Gloucestershire Echo and Western Daily Press for 16 years until August 2014 when they adopted a freelance model. I am the EDF ENERGY SOUTH WEST NEWS PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2009 and 2014. I have photographed every Prime Minister since Margaret Thatcher, U.S.A President Barack Obama, former Russian President Gorbachev, all the royal family, covered hard news, news, features, celebrities including A Lister’s Harrison Ford, Robert De Niro,Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt, Al Pacino (see celebrities section) on the red carpet in London, Gloucester Rugby, Cheltenham Horse racing, Gloucestershire County Cricket, Gatcombe and Badminton Horse Trials, the Bristol Balloon Fiesta, the International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford, and have accompanied the former Gloucestershire ,Berkshire, Wiltshire Regiment (now the Rifles) to Belfast, Ireland, and peacekeeping in Kosovo.

Since August 2014 I have been concentrating on my freelance career and have worked for clients such has BORN FREE, NESPRESSO, the London Ambulance Service, Britain Stronger in Europe, WELL CHILD, Vision Express, WWT Slimbridge, Tidal Lagoon Power, Horizon Nuclear Power, Energy PR, the Labour and Conservative parties, Yorkshire Building Society, International Centre for Birds of Prey, Cotswold Wildlife Park, Marketing Gloucester, Meningitis Now, Glos County Council, Pages Creative, Kuehne and Nagel, the Everyman Theatre, Silver Ball PR, Gravitas PR, Rain Communications, Moose Marketing and PR, Gloucester Quays, Cotswold Life, Newsquest, Swindon Evening Advertiser, plus others. I have also self generated press work and have had work published in and on websites for The Times, The SUN, The Guardian, The Daily Mirror, Daily Telegraph, Daily Express, METRO, Paris Match, TIME Magazine, Daily Mail, Mail Online, New York Post, Huffington Post, Contactmusic, and other websites across the world including in Europe, Brazil, China, Russia, Africa, Australia, the USA. From 2015 I have had 14 pictures printed in The Times alone (see Latest section). My work is distributed through Barcroft Media/Getty Images/WENN/Caters News Agency. To end 2015 a baby Condor picture made the Telegraph website’s Animal Pictures of the Year 2015, from pics worldwide. A Great Grey Owl picture also won a slot in I AM NIKON 2015 short film.

2016 has seen me build my PR/Corporate client base. I also secured worldwide press coverage for Kevin Nicks and his Road Legal Shed. The pictures were first used exclusively by the Daily Mail, followed closely by the DailyTelegraph and websites from the USA to Russia, China. Stormtroopers celebrating MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU in Coleford, Forest of Dean, made all across the USA, China and new for me TIBET. Approached by Wildlife TV Presenter Anneka Svenska to promote her Ascot Hat, the largest in Ascot’s history and carrying a message about horse deaths in horse racing in the UK, I managed to secure her the front page of the Daily Telegraph, Daily Express, The Times, Global Times, Huffington Post. Mid June 2016 saw me photograph ‘A’ Lister’s Sir Ian McKellen and Lionel Richie, both receiving coverage around the world. Sir Ian Mckellen made US Weekly, AHLAN, an English speaking website in the United Arab Emirates and China, whilst both Sir Ian and Lionel Richie made entertainment website Contactmusic. Lionel Richie also made a prominent entertainment site based in Hollywood, USA. In May 2016 I was Highly Commended in the Event Photography Awards, and in the June 2016 edition of NPHOTO Magazine there was a feature on me and my aerial air to air microlight photography. Also in June I was the first photographer to photograph the new F35 fighter jet landing in England at RAF Fairford. The pictures were used immediately on the Daily Mail Online site. July I was commissioned for work with The Times, and a baby Zebra called Casper at the Cotswold Wildlife Park made the Daily Telegraph and The Times. In August some new baby Lion cubs, again at the Cotswold Wildlife Park, made THE SUN and The Times, whilst Zara Tindall (Phillips) competing at the Gatcombe Horse Trials made the Daily Mail Online. Further pictures of Mike Tindall with daughter Mia made the Sunday Telegraph. In September I photographed living legends Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr from The Beatles at the premiere of Eight Days a Week in London.November saw my picture of Girl Choristers at Gloucester Cathedral make the Daily Telegraph, whilst some Solar Panels blessed by the Dean at Gloucester Cathedral made Page 4 of The Times. To end my year December saw a cold weather sunset pic at Haresfield Beacon make The Times, 5 Santa Fun Run pics in Cheltenham made Mail Online, I photographed Human Swan Sacha Dench air to air from a microlight on the final stretch of her epic trip following the flight of the Bewick Swan from Russia to WWT Slimbridge, and some lions opening Christmas presents at Cotswold Wildlife Park did well in the Cotswold Life plus Swindon Advertiser, Oxford Mail, and surprisingly the Ottawa Citizen in Canada? And to end my year 2016 on a very positive note, 3 pictures from my year made the prestigious I AM NIKON 2016 short film.

Further PR and major companies to use me have included Kava Communications, TOUGH MUDDER, the, Footlocker, Homesense, Hewlett Packard and Interserve. In July I was commissioned by the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust to cover a visit by HRH The Prince of Wales visiting their nature reserve at Daneway, Sapperton. The pics were used extensively by themselves and I also managed to get them used on the Daily Telegraph website and Cotswold Life. In November I was once again commissioned to photograph HRH Prince Charles, this time at the WWT Slimbridge 70th Anniversary celebrations.
